Hi folks, Just a short note on my PT6A involvement. For the past five years I've been exclusively flying behind PT6A engines, over 2500 hours, day, night, fair weather and foul, flying medical evacuation flights for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. Based at Port Augusta, 40 minutes by air north of Adelaide, most of my flying involves taking patients from outlying towns and stations to medical facilities in Pt Augusta or Adelaide. Sometimes, I even get to transport patients interstate for transplants etc. but mostly I'm a South Australian lad. I'm happy to say that I've never had a serious problem with the PT6A and don't expect to. I love this engine, and the aeroplane its attached to. I'm in my "retirement" job and not planning on leaving anytime soon!
