Wednesday was a wet one at EAA Airventure, but visitors, determined to make the rounds rain or shine, were rewarded for their dedication. The rain let up, the clouds broke and the sun made a welcome appearance just in time for the afternoon air show. It was a fitting end to the day, particularly for those celebrating Daher-Socata's 100th Anniversary. The tent was a-buzz with representatives and guest alike, including a proud Pratt & Whitney contingent. The soft, glowing sunset washed over an outdoor dining area, and a jazz band set the tone for an evening of great food, great company and touching tributes to a great achievement. Perhaps the most impressive moment of the night came when Daher-Socata wheeled out a Vintage Mustang, their legacy aircraft dating back to World War II. Next to the two PT6-powered TBM 850s they have on display, it was a testament to Daher-Socata's rich and inspiring history. Congratulations again to Daher-Socata on their 100th Anniversary!
